Welcome to the Water Alliance of La Paz County

Water is one of the most important resources in La Paz County. Our communities, farms, businesses, and future all depend on healthy aquifers and responsible groundwater management. The Water Alliance of La Paz County was created to bring people together around that shared responsibility.

The Alliance is a community-driven effort focused on improving understanding of our local groundwater systems, supporting informed conversations about water policy, and helping residents stay connected to the decisions that affect our region’s water future.

Why the Alliance Exists

Much of La Paz County relies on groundwater stored in underground aquifers. These aquifers supply homes, farms, and local businesses across the county. Yet groundwater systems are often misunderstood, and information about them can be difficult for residents to access or interpret.

The Water Alliance was formed to help bridge that gap.

Our purpose is to serve as an advocacy and advisory group focused on groundwater in La Paz County, working to ensure that communities have access to clear information and a voice in conversations about how water is used and managed. La Paz County Water Alliance St…

What We Do

The Alliance works to strengthen community awareness and collaboration around water issues through:

  • Community education about local aquifers and groundwater systems
  • Information sharing about water policies and proposed projects affecting the region
  • Workshops and public discussions that connect residents with water experts and decision makers
  • Partnerships with universities, agencies, and community organizations working on water sustainability
  • Advocacy and community input on issues affecting groundwater management

Our goal is simple: help residents understand the systems beneath our feet and support responsible stewardship of our shared water resources.

How the Alliance Works

The Water Alliance is guided by a Board of Directors supported by a broader community committee. The Board helps set priorities and direction, while the wider committee provides feedback and community perspectives that help shape the Alliance’s work. La Paz County Water Alliance St…

This structure allows the Alliance to remain flexible and collaborative while building the foundation for a stronger regional voice on groundwater issues.

Looking Ahead

In the coming months, the Water Alliance will be expanding opportunities for community engagement, including workshops, public information sessions, and educational resources focused on La Paz County’s aquifers.

By working together—residents, local leaders, farmers, scientists, and community organizations—we can build a clearer understanding of our water resources and support responsible management for generations to come.
